Trinity Rodman is a rising star in the world of women’s professional soccer. In this article we take a deeper look into her life and her prolific sporting career so far.

Trinity Rodman is making a name for herself in the world of women’s soccer

Early Life

Trinity Rodman was born in Newport Beach, California on May 20, 2002. People who are familiar with basketball may recognize her last name immediately, as she hails from a celebrity sports family. Her father, Dennis Rodman, was a member of the 1990’s Chicago Bulls squad, and teammate to the great Michael Jordan for three seasons.

Together with Number 23 and small forward Scotty Pippen, the trio secured three consecutive Championship titles for the Bulls, becoming known as one of the most top-performing teammates in basketball history. Although Rodman was a defensive beast at the time of the Bull’s reign, he is perhaps most remembered for his flamboyant and quirky style that easily set him apart from the rest of the 90s NBA stars. There is no doubt that Rodman’s aptitude for sports shines through in Trinity, as she started to show elite talent in soccer very early on while playing for the So Cal Blues. She also flourished in the Elite Clubs National League, winning a whopping four national championships, and gaining the attention of pro recruiters.

Pro Soccer Career

Trinity Rodman had initially plans to play collegiate soccer with the UCLA Bruins, but soon changed her mind in order to join her brother, D.J. Rodman, at Washington State. However, in the end Rodman did not play college soccer and instead took advantage of an incredible opportunity in professional women’s soccer. The rookie forward made history when, on January 17, 2021, she became the youngest player of all time to be drafted into the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).

There is no doubt she inherited Dennis Rodman’s supreme athletic capabilities, as she scored her first pro goal within minutes of taking the pitch at the 2021 NWSL Challenge Cup. Rodman plays for the Washington Spirit soccer team under the leadership of head coach Richie Burke, who has already noted that Rodman is improving her gameplay with each and every match and practice. The forward may have entered professional athletics under the legacy of Dennis Rodman’s NBA career, but she is making her own path in an entirely different sport and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. The Washington Spirit are currently ranked at 3^rd in the NWSL and have an important upcoming game against North Carolina Courage in which Rodman will be starting.

Rodman has been a member of the Washington Spirit soccer squad since January 2021

Net Worth

Trinity Rodman is not even one year into her contract with Washington Spirit, so it is difficult to calculate her exact net worth. However, we do know that the 2021 NWSL Salary Cap is $650,000. The soccer prodigy also has been recently featured in a campaign by the UEFA Champions League entitled: Next Level, Powered by Verizon. As she continues playing in the big leagues and garners more attention with endorsements and sponsorships, her salary is expected to steadily rise.

Aaron was a great teammate, friend, brother, and son and was loved by anyone who crossed paths with him. He will be deeply missed “.

Aaron Lowe Family

Lowe is survived by his parents, three brothers, and a sister. “Our prayers go out to Aaron’s family, friends, teammates, and everyone who knew and loved him.

We also express our deepest concern for the other person who has been hospitalized as a result of this tragic incident, ”Utah Athletic Director Mark Harlan said in a statement. “We have been in communication with the Aaron family and are supporting them, as well as student-athletes, coaches, and staff in all of our athletic programs, and our focus will remain on them.”

Shot & Killed

Salt Lake City police confirmed that University of Utah cornerback Aaron Lowe was killed in a shooting Sunday morning. The murder occurred at a house party and police say an unidentified woman was seriously injured in the shooting. They have not made any arrests yet.

This tragedy for Utah soccer comes less than a year after running back Ty Jordan was killed in an accidental shooting in December 2020. Lowe went to high school with Jordan and changed his number from # 2 to # 22 to honor his legacy. He was also the first recipient of the Ty Jordan Memorial Scholarship, adding to the seriousness of this news for the Utah soccer family.

“Ty made everyone around him better,” Lowe said in August after being announced as the recipient of the scholarship. “He made me better. My friendship with Ty means a lot because he always pushed me to do my best. He never let me settle for less. I want to make sure his legacy lives on through me. ”

Utah quarterback Cameron Rising was one of many players who expressed their love for him following the news, tweeting, “Rest in peace Lowe. I love you brother ”Sunday morning. Lowe was a backup defensive back during his three-year career with the Utes, recording game appearances primarily on special teams during his first two seasons.

“We are devastated by the loss of Aaron Lowe this morning,” Utah Athletic Director Mark Harland said. “Aaron was a terrific young man, a leader on our soccer team, and a rock of endurance and courage. Our prayers go out to Aaron’s family, friends, teammates, and everyone who knew and loved him. We also express our deepest concern for the other person who has been hospitalized as a result of this tragic incident. We have been in communication with the Aaron family and are supporting them, as well as student-athletes, coaches, and staff in all of our athletic programs. , and our focus will remain on them. ”

Lowe was a defensive running back who played 11 special teams games as a freshman in 2019. Last season saw Lowe playing in five games, also on special teams. Lowe appeared in each of Utah’s first four games of the current season. He had three tackles, all on special teams.

Utes quarterback Cameron Rising, running back Micah Bernard and other teammates responded to the news on Twitter. “Ty made everyone around him better,” Lowe said when Utah announced that he would receive the first Ty Jordan scholarship. “He made me better. My friendship with Ty means a lot because he always pushed me to do my best. He never let me settle for less. I want to make sure his legacy lives on through me. ”

Police are still investigating the shooting that killed Lowe. Homicide detectives are speaking to witnesses and looking for video evidence that may have captured the shooting or the moments leading up to it.

Officers did not visit the home after receiving noise complaints Friday night due to other, higher priority calls, Weisberg said. After receiving reports of a fight involving a weapon, police went to the neighborhood and were making a “tactical approach” to the home when they were informed that shots had been fired, Weisberg said.

“The reasons the officers formed their tactical approach was for the safety of the officers and everyone at the scene,” Weisberg said. “They were entering an unknown situation. They knew there was a fight and a weapon involved. … They approached together. They wanted to make sure they had enough resources to be able to deal with any potential threats on the scene and to be able to immediately address the victims. ”

A police spokesman could not say how close officers were to the house when the shots were fired. Officers who responded to the call found Lowe and the second person who had been shot and provided first aid to both people. Police say multiple people at the party may have witnessed the shooting but left before officers arrived. They hope that some of those people will have photos or videos that can help solve the case.

No arrests have been made. SLCPD is asking anyone with information about the case to call 801-799-3000 and refer to case number 21-176828.

“We are devastated to learn of the passing of Aaron Lowe,” Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham said in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to Aaron’s family and friends, along with the other person who was injured in this tragic incident. Aaron was a great teammate, friend, brother, and son and was loved by anyone who crossed paths with him. He will be deeply missed.”

Utes Athletic Director Mark Harlan added: “We are devastated by the loss of Aaron Lowe this morning. Aaron was a terrific young man, a leader on our soccer team, and a rock of endurance and courage. Our prayers go out to Aaron’s family, friends, teammates, and everyone who knew and loved him. We also express our deepest concern for the other person who has been hospitalized as a result of this tragic incident. We have been in communication with and are supporting the Aaron family, as well as student-athletes, coaches, and staff in all of our athletic programs, and our focus will continue to be on them. ”

Lowe, a high school teammate of the late Ty Jordan at West Mesquite High School in Texas, was named the first recipient of the Ty Jordan Memorial Scholarship on August 31. Lowe switched from No. 2 to No. 22 this season in an effort to honor Jordan’s legacy.

“Ty made everyone around him better,” Lowe said after receiving the scholarship. “He made me better. My friendship with Ty means a lot because he always pushed me to do my best. He never let me settle for less. I want to make sure his legacy lives on through me. ”

Jordan died on Christmas night of an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call (801) 799-3000 and the reference case number.

Transgender runner CeCe Telfer’s Olympic dreams have been put on hold. She has been declared ineligible to compete in the women’s 400m hurdles, her flagship event, at the United States Olympic trials for failing to comply with World Athletics eligibility regulations for certain women’s events, according to the Associated Press.

If Telfer qualified, she would have made history as one of the first openly transgender athletes to compete in an Olympic event.

Telfer was previously listed as a qualifying athlete for Friday’s opening playoffs, but she was not on Wednesday’s roster. In 2019, World Athletics released new guidelines that cut international women’s events between 400 meters and one mile for athletes whose testosterone levels were at 5 nanomoles per liter (nmol / L) or more, according to ESPN.

To be eligible to compete in a qualifying event, Telfer would have had to suppress her testosterone levels (below the 5 nmol / L threshold) and maintain them for at least a year.

On Wednesday, Telfer’s manager David McFarland said in a statement that Telfer will not give up on her Olympic dreams despite her outcome: “CeCe has turned her attention to the future and continues to train. She will be back soon to compete on the national and world stage, ”McFarland told the AP.

USATF, in a separate statement, explained: “The following notification from World Athletics on June 17 that the conditions had not yet been met, USATF provided CeCe with the eligibility requirements and, together with World Athletics, the opportunity to demonstrate their eligibility to compete. her at US Olympic team events According to World Athletics’ subsequent notification to CeCe on June 22, she has been unable to prove her eligibility. ”

The USATF said that she “strongly supports inclusion and provides a clear path to participation in sport for all while maintaining competitive equity.”

“If CeCe meets the conditions for the participation of transgender athletes in the future, we unconditionally support her participation in international events as a member of Team USATF,” the statement concluded.

Telfer competed for the men’s team at Franklin Pierce University (Division II), before taking a break and then returning to compete for the women’s team.

In 2019, Telfer became the first openly transgender woman to win an NCAA title. At the time, she was in her senior year in her fifth year at Franklin Pierce.
