Jeffrey Allen Burnham, a Maryland man accused of killing his brother and two women last week allegedly targeted his brother, a pharmacist, because he believed he was part of a government conspiracy that was “poisoning” people by administering vaccines. against COVID-19, prosecutors said.

According to indictment documents filed in Maryland District Court for Howard County, Jeffrey Burnham, 46, allegedly told his mother, Evelyn Burnham, that he planned to address his concerns about the vaccine with his brother, Brian Robinette, 58 years old.

As previously reported, Burnham allegedly killed his brother and sister-in-law, Kelly Sue Robinette, 57, as well as Rebecca Reynolds, his mother’s childhood friend, 83.

Evelyn called the Cumberland Police Department on September 29 to report that her son Jeffrey had been making bizarre statements about the FBI “after” them both. She told officers that she was concerned “about her mental health” hers.

Officers from the Allegany County Maryland Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a home in the 500 block of Fourth Street in the city of Cumberland at 7:20 p.m. on September 29, where Reynolds was discovered dead with her throat slit and a pillow over her face. The Cumberland Police Department contacted the Howard County Police Department regarding the investigation into Reynolds’ death and the latter agency executed a search warrant at a home located at 5368 Kerger Road in Ellicott City. A Howard County Police tactical unit entered the home on September 30 and found Robinette dead in their upstairs bedroom. Both appeared to have suffered multiple gunshot wounds from a 40-caliber firearm.

Police say that after killing Reynolds, Burnham stole her Lincoln and drove him about two hours to Ellicott City, where she murdered her brother and sister-in-law. A gun was recovered at the Robinette home and Reynolds’ Lincoln was found abandoned a few blocks from the home. Investigators also discovered that Brian Robinette’s 2007 red Corvette had been stolen.

Brian Robinette’s cell phone was found on an exit ramp on Route 100 that led to Interstate 95 north. Surveillance footage from an E-Z Pass camera showed the Corvette passing through the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel at approximately 8:30 a.m. September 30.

According to the indictment documents, an unidentified informant contacted state police on the afternoon of September 30 and told them that Burnham had returned to Cumberland in his brother’s car. The informant said that Burnham asked him for gas before telling him that he would “see it on television.”

“Burnham was seen around 9 am on the side of a road in Davis, WV, with the 2007 red Corvette that he stole from his brother’s home after the murder,” the Howard County Police Department said in a statement on Friday morning. “The West Virginia State Police pulled him over without incident and located a weapon inside the vehicle. It is unclear why Burnham went off the road. ”

Burnham faces two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of second-degree murder, and illegal seizure of a motor vehicle.

Burnham was extradited to Maryland on Tuesday and is being held in Allegany County without bond. Defense attorneys Michael Allan Stankan and Jessica Lynne Colwell, who are on file as Burnham’s representatives, did not immediately respond to emails from Law & Crime.
