Jennifer Misner was the wife of Dustin Diamond. Diamond alias Screech is an American actor, director, stand-up comedian, and musician best known for his role as Samuel “Screech” Powers throughout the Saved by the Bell franchise.

He’s popularly known for playing the nerdy and lovable Samuel “Screech” Powers on the television show Saved by the Bell, a role he played for close to thirteen years from its beginning as Good Morning, Miss Bliss through its final incarnation, Saved by the Bell: The New Class.
Continuing the series into college, Saved by the Bell: The College Years shows most of the cast transplanted into not only the same college but also the same college dormitory. Dustin Diamond Arrested and Charges
According to the parody piece, Diamond — who played the nebbishy Samuel “Screech” Powers in the 1990s NBC comedy — was serving a 15-year sentence for stabbing a heckler when he was “tragically struck down in prison resulting in his death.”
As many Facebook users pointed out, Diamond is not currently in prison. However, the 43-year-old comedian and director were sentenced to four months in a Wisconsin jail in 2016 after a 2015 conviction for disorderly conduct and carrying a concealed weapon the prior year. Diamond was released a month early, whereupon he was forced to return to the clink a month later over a probation violation, according to the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office. He stayed there for just two days.
Diamond has not been confirmed to appear in the upcoming “Saved by the Bell” reboot, which premieres on Nov. 25 on the NBC streamer Peacock.
Dustin Diamond Cause of Death
Dustin Diamond, who played the role of Screech on the popular 1990s high school comedy “Saved by the Bell,” died Monday after a recent cancer diagnosis, according to Diamond’s manager, Roger Paul. He was 44.
Diamond first shared news of his cancer diagnosis last month.
At the time, his manager said his client’s health was “serious” and that Diamond was undergoing further testing at a Florida hospital. He underwent his first round of chemotherapy days later.
An actor and stand-up comedian, Diamond found fame playing Samuel “Screech” Powers for more than a decade on the “Saved by the Bell” franchise.
The teen series was recently reimagined by the Peacock streaming service with some of the original stars, though not Diamond. He stirred controversy with his 2009 book “Behind the Bell,” in which Diamond shared backstage stories about shooting the series with some of his accounts being less than flattering to his costars.
He also faced some legal troubles, serving three months in jail for stabbing a man during a 2014 altercation at a bar in Wisconsin. The actor has appeared in a number of reality shows over the years, including “Celebrity Fit Club,” “Celebrity Boxing 2” and “Celebrity Championship Wrestling.” In 2018, he appeared as his “Saved by the Bell” character in the Funny or Die series, “Zack Morris Is Trash.”
Diamond’s “Save by the Bell” costar, Mario Lopez, paid tribute to the late actor in an Instagram post.
“Dustin, you will be missed my man,” Lopez wrote. “The fragility of this life is something never to be taken for granted. Prayers for your family will continue on.”
Dustin Diamond Death Hoax
The purported hoax was perpetuated by social media users who were eager to break the fake news. “Thy gatt Screech son lol,” wrote one Facebook user above a screenshot of the story. Another shared the still with a link to an unrelated music video on YouTube.
As it turns out, the piece was published by the website Rings, which bills itself as a “fabricated satirical newspaper and comedy website” that “uses invented names in all its stories, except in cases when public figures are being satirized.” The story is especially suspect as it hasn’t been reported by any other news outlets, according to Reuters.
In October 2020, a death hoax spread on social media suggesting that the actor had died.
The story being spread on social media-originated from a website named Ringsssss. The headline of the story read, “Saved by the Bell’s Dustin ‘Screech’ Diamond’ Killed in Prison Riot at age 43.” The story alleges that the riot occurred as Diamond was close to the end of a “15-year sentence for a stabbing that happened after someone criticized his comedic skills and heckled him at a comedy club.”
Diamond was last in the news in June 2020 when TMZ reported that the actor was behind nearly $300,000 on his mortgage in Port Washington, Wisconsin.
