Kasie Sue Hunt is an American political correspondent. She is a correspondent for NBC News on Capitol Hill, covering Congress on all NBC News and MSNBC platforms, and host of MSNBC’s Way Too Early with Kasie Hunt.

Hunt was born in Michigan and raised in Wayne, Pennsylvania. She is the daughter of Bruce and Krista Hunt and the sister of younger sister Carly Hunt. Her father manages real estate design and construction for Penn Medicine, University of Pennsylvania Health System in Philadelphia, and her mother is a yoga teacher at Easton. Her sister is a former golfer for the Georgetown Hoyas and Maryland Terrapins women’s golf teams.

Hunt graduated from Conestoga High School in 2003. She attended George Washington University and graduated magna cum laude with a BA in International Affairs in 2006. She earned her MA in Sociology from St John’s College, Cambridge.

Career

Hunt began his career in journalism as an intern in the political unit of NBC News. She was a health policy reporter for the National Journal’s CongressDaily, writing about the passage of the Affordable Care Act. She wrote for Politico, covering the 2010 midterm elections. She began working as a national political reporter for the Associated Press in August 2011 and covered Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign.

In January 2013, Hunt joined NBC News as an off-air reporter and producer covering Congress and politics. She began appearing regularly on MSNBC as a political reporter and in November 2014 she became a political correspondent. She writes for msnbc.com and has appeared regularly on MSNBC and Bloomberg shows, including Morning Joe, Hardball with Chris Matthews, and With All Due Respect.

In October 2017, Hunt began hosting her own MSNBC talk show, Kasie DC, which aired in two separate segments on Sundays at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. ET The final episode of Kasie DC aired on Sunday, September 13, 2020.

On Monday, September 21, 2020, Kasie Hunt began hosting a reboot of the MSNBC talk show Way Too Early under the new name Way Too Early with Kasie Hunt. Her new show currently airs Monday through Friday mornings from 5 a.m. to 6 a.m. ET. On Friday, July 16, 2021, Hunt announced that it was the last day of her hosting “Way Too Early” and also said goodbye to her co-hosts on MSNBC’s Morning Joe. She did not provide details about her future plans.

Kasie Hunt announces she’s leaving NBC News, MSNBC

NBC News correspondent and MSNBC host Kasie Hunt will be leaving NBCUniversal after eight years.

Hunt, who hosts “Way Too Early” on MSNBC and serves as a Capitol Hill correspondent for NBC News, delivered the news on his morning show Friday and revealed that it would be his last broadcast of the show.

“This will be my last broadcast with all of you,” she said, adding that she would reveal the details of “her new adventure in the coming weeks.” A representative for NBCUniversal confirmed Hunt’s departure but declined to comment further.

Hunt also posted a video of her farewell to Twitter, where she added a short message.

“Some personal news, as they say, thanks to all the viewers, journalists, legislators, and everyone else who got up earlier to help improve @WayTooEarly. I loved doing this show. More soon! #WayTooEarly, ”Hunt wrote.

Hunt was also a regular face on NBC News shows like “Meet the Press” and on NBC News Now, the station’s broadcast network.

In his departure video, Hunt thanked his team and his viewers, adding, “I really loved spending most of the last year with all of you, seeing photos of your pets and babies and learning why you are awake and looking and, of course, bring you the news. ”
