Mustafa Nadarević Wiki, Biography

Mustafa Nadarević was a Bosnian film, stage, television actor, and comedian. He worked in over 70 movies before-mentioned as Miris dunja (1982), When Father Was Away on Business (1985), Reflections (1987), The Glembays (1988), Kuduz (1989), Silent Gunpowder (1990), Savršeni Krug, Days and Hours, Mirage, and Halima’s Path (2012).

Nadarević was born in Banja Luka on 2 May 1943, now in Bosnia and Herzegovina, when World War II in Yugoslavia. He studied acting at the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo but got his degree at the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb.

Family

Nadarević’s spouse, Slavica Radović (April 25, 1964 – June 7, 2012), a Slovenian designer, died at 48 after a decade of struggle with breast cancer. She was diagnosed in early April 2012 with liver metastasis, which was caused by cancer. He and Nadarević were married a few weeks later, on his birthday, April 25. They have been in a relationship for twenty years. They had three children. His words to his friends shortly before his death were, “Take care of my Mujo (Mustafa).”

Career

During his long acting career, Nadarević built a credit as one of the most recognizable role actors in the Balkans. In late Yugoslavia, Nadarević was seen performing in roles mostly as a Partisan soldier. He was best known for his performance in the films When Father Was Away toward Business, Reflections, The Glembays, among many others. His role in The Glembays made him the Golden Arena for Best Actor award in 1988.

Nadarević played a variety of roles in several films produced everywhere the areas of the Balkans. He took the Best Actor’s award at the 17th Moscow International Film Festival for his Silent Gunpowder role in 1991.

Nadarević’s last role as Croatian army general Janko Bobetko, was in Antun Vrdoljak’s 2019 film General.

Throughout the last years of his life, Nadarević was best well-known for performing the entertaining television character, Izzet Fazlinović, in the Bosnian sitcom Lud, zbunjen, normalan (English: Crazy, Confused, Normal), where he performed a sexually unsatisfied 70-year-old man who will do anything but struggle to own a dollar and throw curses at anyone he can.

Death

Nadarević said that he was diagnosed with lung cancer in January 2020. He died ten months later in Zagreb on 22 November, due to difficulties with lung cancer.
