Stephen Andrew Walter pleaded guilty Monday to distributing the fentanyl pills that caused rapper Mac Miller’s fatal overdose in 2018, according to a plea agreement filed in California. Stephen Andrew Walter pleaded guilty to one count of fentanyl distribution.

On September 4, 2018, Walter told a broker that he distributed counterfeit oxycodone pills containing the synthetic drug fentanyl, according to the plea deal. That broker gave the pills to Miller’s dealer, who provided them to Miller, according to the document. Three days later, he died of what a coroner later described as “mixed drug toxicity” of fentanyl, cocaine, and alcohol.

The individual identified as Stephen Andrew Walter accepted a plea deal to 17 years in prison and five years of supervised release.

Prosecutors reportedly alleged that it was Walter who indirectly gave alleged Mac Miller dealer Cameron James Pettit the deadly Percocet tablets. Miller, 26, was found dead in his California home on September 7, 2018. The “Self Care” hitmaker had an accidental overdose that was later reported to be a mixture of alcohol, cocaine, and fentanyl.

Mac Miller’s drug dealer has been identified as Stephen Andrew Walter. He was indicted in the 2019 case along with two others, namely Cameron James Pettit, 28, of West Hollywood, and Ryan Michael Reavis, 36, of Havasu, Arizona. Stephen Andrew Walter is reportedly 46 years old. He along with the other two conspired to distribute the poisonous drugs to Mac Miller.

In 2019, US Attorney Nick Hanna said in a statement announcing his indictment, Reuters reported: “It has become increasingly common for us to see drug traffickers selling counterfeit pharmaceuticals made with fentanyl. As a result, fentanyl is now the leading cause of overdose death in the United States. ”

As mentioned above, Stephen Andrew Walter could have to spend behind bars for more than 20 years. He also faces a $ 1 million fine in the case. Prosecutors in their latest report said the trio gave Mac Miller the deadly pills three days before they found him dead. They also allegedly supplied the multiplatinum rapper with cocaine and Xanax. According to the legal documents, Walter knew very well that the pills he was giving Petit were deadly in nature. Petit then delivered the drugs to Mac Miller.

According to Page Six, an indictment showed Petit agreed to supply Miller with 10 pills of oxycodone, also known as “blues” on the streets. However, he sold fake pills to the rapper, which ultimately cost him his life. According to a 2018 report from TMZ, the Pittsburg rapper and Ariana Grande’s ex-boyfriend were found around noon at their San Fernando Valley home and pronounced dead at the scene. A friend reportedly alerted authorities that he made a 911 call from Miller’s home. Mac Miller had released his fifth album ‘Swimming’ in August 2018. He also made headlines for his split with Ariana Grande in May of that year after they dated for two years.
