Tawny Kitaen was an American actress, model, comedian, and media personality. Kitaen modeled and appeared in television commercials for Jack LaLanne’s European Health Spas in the early 1980s. Kitaen, who was dating Ratt Robbin’s guitarist Crosby at the time, appeared as the album cover model on the debut EP. of the band Ratt (1983) and their debut studio album Out of the Cellar (1984).

Kitaen began her acting career in 1983 with a minor role in the television movie Malibu. In 1984, she played the main character in the erotic adventure film The Perils of Gwendoline in the Land of the Yik-Yak, also called Gwendoline. Her other film appearances include Bachelor Party (1984) as Tom Hanks’ character’s future girlfriend, and starring roles in the minor blockbuster Witchboard (1986), White Hot, and Dead Tides.

Kitaen appeared in several music videos in the 1980s for the band Whitesnake, including the hits “Here I Go Again”, “Still of the Night”, “Is This Love” and “The Deeper the Love”. She also appeared in Ratt’s “Back for More” music video.

Kitaen appeared on Seinfeld television as Jerry’s girlfriend in the 1991 episode “The Nose Job.” She appeared in 19 episodes of the television series The New WKRP in Cincinnati from 1991 to 1993 as a nighttime DJ named Mona Loveland; on the show, her late-night show was called Mona Til Midnight. She also had recurring roles on Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, and co-hosted America’s Funniest People from 1992 to 1994.

Kitaen was married to baseball player Chuck Finley from 1997 to 2002. In 2002, she was charged with domestic violence for an incident involving Finley. Three days later, Finley filed for divorce. After an agreement with the prosecution, Kitaen agreed to “enter a spousal assault counseling program and avoid contact with Finley.” The couple had been married for five years and had two daughters together.

Cause of Death

Julie E. “Tawny” Kitaen, who appeared in several music videos for the rock group Whitesnake in the 1980s, has died. The Orange County, California coroner’s office, which listed her as Tawny Finley, stated that she died at her home in Newport Beach on Friday morning, but the cause of her death has not been released. She was 59 years old.

Coverdale tweeted in memory of Kitaen, writing: “I just woke up to some very sad and unexpected news … Waiting for confirmation … but if it’s true, my condolences to her children, family, friends, and fans of hers. ”
