Martinez Is Accused of Throwing Soup in the Face of a Manager After Coming Back to the Restaurant to Complain About Her Takeout Order

The video shows Martinez talking to an employee at the cash register. She then removes the lid from the soup, words are exchanged, and throws the soup at the employee’s face before storming out of the restaurant.

The victim, restaurant manager Janelle Browland, told FOX44 that Martinez called the restaurant to complain that the plastic lid on her take-out container had melted into her soup. Martinez asked to speak to a manager, Browland identified herself as a manager, then Martinez “used a lot of choice words, so Janelle hung up the phone,” the outlet reported.

Martinez called again a few minutes later, and Browland said she put the call on hold while she helped other customers, the manager told FOX44, adding that when she got back on the line, the call had been disconnected.

“A few minutes later, that’s when my host came over and grabbed me and said, ‘Here’s this lady talking about her take-out order from her,’” she said to the middle. “And I thought to myself, ‘Okay, here we go.’

It was then that the events in the video happened.

“Janelle told FOX 44 that the soup was not as hot as when it was served, but it was still warm, and the menudo is typically a spicy soup, so the spices burned her eyes and caused two separate nosebleeds.” said the outlet. she reported.

“We do not tolerate this type of behavior and we hold our citizens to the highest standard,” Temple Police Deputy Chief Allen Teston said near the beginning of the investigation, according to KWTX. “If a citizen believes that he has received poor service, we recommend that he remain civil until the problem is resolved.”

Martinez was kicked out of the restaurant, the television station reported.

Social media accounts in his name that come up through data mining sites appear to have been removed.

In addition to speaking to the media about the experience, Browland gave his side of the story in a TikTok video.

He said Martinez called first “saying his soup was so hot that he had melted the plastic lid on the soup. … I, of course, was offering him refunds and trying to get him an alternative meal, a free meal…. She didn’t want to hear him at all. All she wanted to do was scream and curse. ”

The manager claims that he asked the caller not to yell at him or curse at him, prompting the customer to say, “Oh no honey, you still haven’t heard the attitude and I’ll talk to you anyway. Willing. ”

That’s when Browland says he hung up the phone. The woman called back and called Browland like a bitch and demanded to speak to a different manager, her TikTok video says. Browland put her on hold for about 60 seconds and told her that she needed a moment.

All she wanted to do was complain, ”says Browland in the video.

“I told her that if you don’t go away or calm down I’m going to call the police, and she said I don’t give a damn. … I told you, ma’am, I can still help you. … It was then that she made a split decision to take the hot little piece and throw it in my face. … The spices in our soup definitely affected me more than anything.
