Curtis Abraham Wiki – Curtis Abraham Biography
Curtis Abraham was sitting in his vehicle outside the store early Thursday morning when his girlfriend came in to get some items. Shortly after midnight, police say, Jesus Javier Uribe, 22, entered the parking lot wearing a bulletproof vest. A Nevada filmmaker was killed in what police say was a “completely random” shooting at a gas station in South Las Vegas.
Authorities told CBS-8 that Uribe first shot an empty car, before walking up to Abraham’s car and shooting him dead. Uribe then went into the convenience store. Abraham’s girlfriend hid in a cooler with an employee, while other customers fled through the back door. At least seven shell casings were found inside the store, but no one inside was hit by gunshots, the prosecutor said. Uribe then fled the scene.

Police allege that Uribe and Abraham did not know each other and that the shooting was random. They have not disclosed the reason for the incident. After a 12-hour manhunt, Uribe was detained. He has been charged with one count of murder and three counts of attempted murder.
According to Fox 5 Las Vegas, several of Abraham’s friends gathered for a candlelight vigil Thursday night to celebrate the aspiring filmmaker’s life. “Everyone who knows him knows that he always has a smile on his face,” Abraham’s friend and business partner Malachi Miles told the station. “His energy from him is always upbeat.” “He feels worthless like there is no purpose or motive and that’s what we have to live with,” Miles continued. “[It’s] just silly. Just in the wrong place at the wrong time.”
Uribe is being held without bail and court records do not reflect an attorney authorized to speak on his behalf. He has not yet pleaded guilty. According to a press release sent out by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), on November 4 at around 12:37 a.m., the department received multiple reports of gunfire at a convenience store located in the 7700 block of South Jones Boulevard.
When police officers appeared on the scene, they found Curtis Abraham, 36, shot multiple times inside a car in the parking lot. He was taken to UMC Hospital and pronounced dead from gunshot wounds. On Thursday, Uribe refused to appear in court. A judge noted Uribe’s absence and ordered that he be held in jail without bail pending his appearance Tuesday in the Las Vegas Court of Justice. He is charged with several serious crimes, including murder and attempted murder. More charges are expected including robbery, theft, and illegal discharge of a weapon.
Last week, Abraham’s friends and his business partner Malachi Miles held a vigil to celebrate his life, Fox 5 Vegas reported. “I feel like everyone who knows him knows that he always has a smile on his face, his energy is always upbeat,” Miles said. “If you haven’t worked with him directly, you probably know someone who worked with him, took a video or took photos of him and every time they worked with him it was a pleasure,” Miles said.
