Kiera McGlinn, A 42-year-old substitute teacher in Maine was charged after he was detained on suspicion of having s**ex with a high school student, according to authorities. According to authorities, Kiera R. McGlinn surrendered to the Portland Police Department on Tuesday in response to unpaid orders for her arrest.

According to a report from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, he was arrested and put in county jail after paying $2,500 bail. He is accused of se**xually abusing a child and interfering with a victim or witness, in a case that began in February, according to authorities.

On March 28, 2023, Kiera R. McGlinn, 42, turned herself into the Portland Police Department due to outstanding warrants for her arrest. She was charged with allegedly se**xually abusing a minor and manipulating a victim/witness.

McGlinn was transported to the Cumberland County Jail, where she posted a $2,500 cash bond for the following charges. The charges stemmed from a February 2023 investigation by sheriff’s detectives in which McGlinn.

McGlinn was accused of having a se**xual relationship with a teenager. During this investigation, McGlinn allegedly contacted the victim and asked her to lie about her relationship.

In the early stages of that investigation, detectives learned that McGlinn was working as a substitute teacher.

Detectives ultimately determined that none of the alleged conduct occurred on SAD 6 property, nor did McGlinn’s role as a substitute teacher serve to facilitate the crime. Instead, the victim, in this case, was friends with members of McGlinn’s family, and all of the reporting occurred through this family dynamic and off school grounds.

In this case, as in others of a similar nature, investigators always carefully reviewed and considered the possibility of other victims.

The police usually interview friends and acquaintances of the victim, among other actions. They revealed that no other victims were identified, and their investigation has backed this up. This matter is now in the hands of the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office.

McGlinn was scheduled for an arraignment on May 10, 2023, in the Cumberland County Unified Court. She is out on bail and was barred from having any contact with the victim in this case.
