Noah Robert Calderon: Feds say North Texas man made a bomb out of the pipe for alleged ‘fascination with mass shooters’
Authorities say the man allegedly idolized the Columbine High assailants. The US Attorney for the Northern District of Texas has charged a Burleson man with possession of a pipe bomb, officials said on Tuesday. Noah Robert Calderon, who allegedly idolized the Columbine school attackers, first filed a criminal complaint on April 18, officials said. On May 10, he was charged with possession of a destructive device. Calderon appeared in court for the first time on Monday.
Noah Robert Calderon is 22 years old.
“This defendant displayed various manifestations of potential violence: admiration for snipers, obsession with guns, and hatred of a protected class. Worse still, he allegedly went from the idea stage to the planning and preparation stage,” he said. “We could have prevented a major tragedy by arresting Mr. Calderon.
Court documents say the FBI was alerted to footage Calderon allegedly shared on Snapchat in October 2022, among which footage of homemade bombs was allegedly posted, including one with the “SS” marking, a reference to the Nazi paramilitary organization. He said the FBI received another tip in March that Calderon had detonated a pipe bomb in a residential area, which was confirmed by 911 calls at the time about a loud jarring noise and smoke.
Authorities said agents later checked Calderon’s Google account and found “how to make homemade bombs” and “how propane bombs are made”, as well as searching for Columbine’s killers who shot the Charleston church. He also looked at where propane bombs were planted in Columbine and the names of several local public schools.
A search of Calderon’s e-commerce activities showed that Calderon allegedly purchased two pounds of potassium perchlorate, one pound of aluminum powder, and a scratch fuse, officials said.
Federal agents issued a search warrant at Calderón’s Burleson home on April 17, and in his garage, a brown shoe containing items that could be used to make and detonate bombs, reportedly including a metal shot and a glass bottle marked “fragment” found the box. directly. It was also reported that there was a plastic container containing 659.2 grams of explosive powder. And in Calderón’s room, they found a handwritten “manifesto” allegedly glorifying the Columbine shooters and advocating white supremacy.
Calderon could face up to 10 years in prison if found guilty.
