Raul Alexander Cuevas, a 31-year-old resident of Nampa, Idaho, has been charged with first-degree murder in the stabbing death of 39-year-old Jesus R Urrutia. The incident occurred just one day after Cuevas’ mother, Michelle E Luna, was fatally stabbed at her residence in the same area.

Urrutia had been identified as the prime suspect in Luna’s murder, and various law enforcement agencies had been alerted to locate him. Around 8:45 p.m. m. On March 28, police and emergency medical services responded to a 911 call reporting a stabbing incident at Luna’s residence, according to a report.

According to a press release from the Nampa Police Department, police and emergency medical services responded to a 911 call regarding the alleged stabbing of an adult woman at a property on the 2100 block of West Grouse Street at around 8:45 PM on Tuesday, March. 28. First responders claim that, upon arrival, they found the victim, who appeared to have “multiple stab wounds on his body,” inside the house.

The victim received life-saving treatment but was unable to recover from his injuries and was declared dead at the scene. Investigators were immediately able to identify Luna as the victim and Urrutia as the main suspect in her murder.

Luna was the resident of the house. According to authorities, several law enforcement agencies were informed that Urrutia “knew” Luna, and they called her that evening.

However, the Ada County Sheriff’s Office reported in a press release that the Nampa Police Department responded to a call from an officer at 7:03 am, which described a different stabbed victim, this time an adult male, thought to be Urrutia.

When police arrived at the scene, located in the parking lot of an Avimor gas station more than 25 kilometers from Nampa, they discovered Urrutia in one of the cars there.

According to police, Urrutia “was piled up in a working but parked car”. Urrutia was pulled out of the car by emergency personnel who performed CPR on her until paramedics arrived.

According to the announcement, Urrutia was taken by emergency personnel to a nearby hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead just after 8 am.

Authorities, at Ada County Forensic Medicine Institute, ruled that Urrutia’s death was a homicide caused by “a sharp force injury to the chest”. Cuevas, the prime suspect in Urrutia’s death, was found by ACSO lawmakers that day at a gas station about 20 miles south of where Urrutia was stabbed.

Lawmakers collected evidence from Cuevas and his vehicle before arresting Cuevas and taking him to Ada County Jail. Although Urrutia is thought to have killed Cuevas’ mother, police said they “still found out why Cuevas fatally stabbed Urrutia.”
