On Tuesday, January 26, 2021, Austin 911 received a “Gun Hot Shot call” at 1912 W. 35th Street, Austin police said in a news release.
“The caller reported that a male subject entered his workplace, a doctor’s office, with a gun and had hostages inside,” the statement said.

“As the incident began to unfold, it became known that several hostages were being held within the business. Several hostages initially escaped and then others were allowed to leave, with the exception of Dr. Katherine Dodson. ”
The confrontation and the murder took place on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at 4:29 p.m. at the Children’s Medical Group. “She had numerous weapons when she entered the building,” a police commander told a news conference.
The reason is unclear, although Narumanchi was facing a terminal cancer diagnosis and had recently tried to apply at the doctor’s office.
